Brantley Gilbert (born 20 January, 1985), is a country music artist from Jefferson, Georgia. Signed to Big Machine Records, who started performing in 2005.
Gilbert was originally signed to Colt Ford’s label, Average Joe’s Entertainment where he released the singles “Modern Day Prodigal Son” and “Halfway to Heaven” alongside others.

A Modern Day Prodigal Son is the debut studio album from American country rock singer Brantley Gilbert. It was first self-released on a limited scale with just the first eleven songs back in 2005. It finally was released nationally by Average Joes in October 2009 (and later re-released by Valory Music Co.).
- According to Gilbert, the fatal car accident he was in, spurred him to dedicate himself to his musical career and writing songs helped him recapture some memories he lost in the crash. His first album “Modern Day Prodigal Son” was released after signing with Average Joe’s Entertainment in mid-2009.
