Software Overview

Main Features

  • Allows you to perform, record, mix, arrange, and compose music
  • Packaged with a variety of instruments, loops, and sounds
  • Enables nondestructive editing with unlimited undos
  • Supports plugins for additional functionality

Ableton Live is a DAW for OS X used to create, produce, and perform music. The workstation is packaged with a variety of instruments, sounds, loops, and kits that assist you in creating any kind of music your heart desires.

Ableton Live is designed for live performances, as well as recording, composing, and mixing music. It is available in three different editions: Intro, Standard, and Suite. The three editions are similar but Standard and Suite come with additional instruments, effects, packs, and other features.

Along with its library of instruments and effects, Ableton Live enables nondestructive editing and unlimited undos, which allows you to endlessly tweak your music to perfection. The workstation allows you to work quicker, as it supports dual monitors, which enables you to view the session and arrangement at the same time. If you aren’t satisfied with the instruments and effects provided, the suite is also extensible, which allows you to add plugins, such as a sampler or amp, to provide extended functionality.

The Ableton Live suite of tools is most often used by DJs and musicians to perform live music, but can also be used for mixing, arranging, and recording music. It comes at a steep price but is worth it if you are an OS X user looking for a professional DAW.

Ableton Live 9 Authorization File

Got a question for you all about the ableton software. As we all know plenty of people pirate audio and program software all the time. Ableton is obviously heavily pirated. So, as we know a lot of famous producers get caught using pirated or cracked plugins and software. Does doing so cause any degradation to the final product? For example, theoretically speaking a cracked instance of Massive is perfectly identical to it's authorized counter part, no? What about the ableton software itself. Is a pirated version identical to the authorized version? What difference does it make on the computer itself, what differences exist if any?
